Who we are
The vision of Carleton Lifeline is "to promote the support and protection of human life from conception to natural death by informing, equipping, and encouraging students and staff in areas of positive and peaceful pro-life action."
Carleton Lifeline is a club at Carleton University. Meetings are open to all youth and young adults, student or non-student.
Informing & equipping
Carleton Lifeline holds information sessions to raise awareness about specific pro-life concerns. Past topics have included:
- Pro-Life 101 (fail-proof guide to defending the pro-life position in today's world)
- The Abortion - Breast Cancer link
- Abortion in Politics
- Fetal development
- Health Risks of Abortion
- Post Abortion Syndrome
- and more.
Getting informed about these issues helps youth become more equipped to inform others. With stats as they are (71% of abortions are performed on women under age 29), chances are good that as a youth, you will come across someone who is considering abortion. What you know and say could make the difference between life or death.
Encouraging action
Carleton Lifeline members are encouraged to participate in positive and peaceful pro-life action. This includes supporting Crisis Pregnancy Centers through fundraising and volunteering. Members also participate in the yearly March for Life.
Fun
Although we deal with a difficult topic, we are a pro-life youth group. We strive to celebrate life as we fight for it. Recreational outings are planned once every few months as a way to get to know and support each other.
